Baked Corn on the Cob

Corn on the cob can be baked in the oven, how great is that?

I don’t know about you, but I think corn just tastes so much better when you eat it right off the cob. I like to roll it in a little butter, sprinkle on a little salt, and sink my teeth into it. It tastes like summer. The only thing I don’t love about corn on the cob is having to peel off the husks and all those annoying stringy bits that cling to everything.  Well, I finally have a solution. Did you know you can bake corn in the oven, husks and all? (And if you’re saying,”Well yeah, of course I knew that,” just let me savour my personal epiphany and you can at least enjoy the pretty photos and funny kids, mmkay smarty-pants?)

Baked Corn on the Cob All you need to do is put the corn directly on the oven rack and bake for about a half-hour. That’s about it.  You can serve it with the husks still on and let people peel it off themselves, because it peels back very easily and the strands just slide away. It also leaves you with a handle for your corn if you keep it attached at the end of your cob. corncritics I thought it kids would find the “husk handle” a lot of fun, but it actually made the corn too cumbersome for them to eat, so I ended up removing it completely for them, which was no problem at all.  They adore corn on the cob, and although the cooking method was different, it had the same great taste that they love. Ayla hasn’t had much experience with corn on the cob yet, but she seemed to enjoy it. Corn on the cob baked in the oven. The best no-fuss method.[amd-zlrecipe-recipe:14]
