Peanut Butter Oatmeal Cookies

Wholesome oats and yummy peanut butter combine to make one delicious cookie.

1/2 cup peanut butter
1/2 cup butter
1 cup brown sugar
1 egg
1/2 tsp vanilla
3/4 cup all-purpose flour
3/4 cup rolled oats
1/2 tsp baking soda
1/2 cup chocolate chips or raisins

Cream butter and peanut butter. Add sugar, egg and vanilla. Beat until smooth. Add flour and baking soda; mix. Add oats and choclate chips; mix. Roll spoonfuls of dough into balls and flatten with a fork. Bake for 10-12 minutes at 350F.

I am a sucker for peanut butter and chocolate, so of course I chose chocolate chips over raisins. You’ll notice most of my cookie recipes have chocolate chips in them and it’s because I’m a chocoholic. I can’t help it! My mom used to make these cookies when we were little so I know them well. I hadn’t made them in ages, and when I had a playdate to go to I decided it was a good time to bake them again. I brought them along and they were quickly devoured.  The two cookies in the photo above were the only ones that made it back! Thank goodness, because you know I would have eaten the entire batch by myself.

I have been searching Kraft for a chocolate chip, peanut butter OATMEAL cookie, and only a few grabbed my interest, but I felt like the ingredient lists were to long or something πŸ˜‰ thanks for posting this! I finally made them…baking right now and I’m eating my 2nd one already, so good. I use natural peanut butter and quick oats, otherwise the exact same ingredients…uhm maybe a few extra chocolate chips heheee

Oh my, how could I forget to tag it ‘cookies’? That’s the most important tag, lol! Thanks for pointing that out, I’ve fixed it. Happy baking!

That really didn’t help. That’s like saying, “oh, just flour”. What *type*!? 😦

Sorry, that’s what the package says. It’s like these ones: http://www.amazon.com/Bobs-Red-Mill-Organic-32-Ounce/dp/B004VLVN6YMaybe it’s a regional thing but that’s what I call this kind of oats, not steel-cut or quick cooking, just regular rolled oats.

I just made these and they’re delicious! I think I came out with about 27 but I may have miscounted because they were being eaten almost as soon as they were out of the oven.
